Appeal against decisions issued by Keva

If you are not happy with a decision issued by Keva, you can lodge an appeal against it. The instructions for appeal enclosed with the decision will inform you on how to proceed.

Appeals may be lodged against

  • pension decisions
  • rehabilitation decisions
  • preliminary decisions

Appeal to the Pension Appeal Board (TELK)

Appeals against Keva’s decisions should be lodged with the Pension Appeal Board (TELK). The appeal document should be addressed to TELK but submitted to Keva. The appeal period is 30 days from the date of service of the decision. The appeal may be submitted to Keva by mail, email or fax.

Keva will consider your appeal and if the decision cannot be rectified as requested, the appeal will be referred to TELK for consideration. You will be sent a copy of the statement issued by Keva in the appeal.

Pension Appeal Board

Appeal to the Insurance Court

If you are not happy with the decision issued by TELK, you can lodge an appeal against it with the Insurance Court. The instructions for appeal enclosed with the decision issued by TELK will inform you on how to proceed. The appeal period is 30 days from the date of service of the decision. The appeal document should be addressed to the Insurance Court but submitted to Keva by mail, email or fax.

Keva will consider your appeal and if your claims cannot be accommodated, the appeal will be referred to the Insurance Court for consideration. You will be sent a copy of the statement issued by Keva in the appeal. There is no right of appeal against decisions issued by the Insurance Court.
