Which information is omitted from the register extract?

Municipal sector

Not all work done in the employment of local governments falls within the scope of the Local Government Pensions Act or entitles the employee to a pension, and such employment may accordingly be omitted from our register.

You need not notify of employment relationships omitted from the register if the relationship

  • is covered by the State Employees’ Pensions Act (VaEL)
  • was covered (up to 1 Jan 2007) by the Temporary Employees’ Pensions Act (LEL)
  • was terminated before your 23rd birthday (up to 1 Jan 2005)
  • continued for less than 4 months (up to 1 Jul 1971)
  • continued for less than 1 month (1 Jul 1971–31 Dec 1988).

From 1 Jan 2005 on, the register extract shows the period of time from the beginning of the month following your 18th birthday until the end of the month of your 68th birthday.

Church

Previously pension accrual was affected by the employee’s age, the duration of the employment and the amount of earned income, and therefore some employment relationships were not included in the register extract:

  • No pension at all accrued for employees under 23 years of age (up to 1 Jan 2005)
  • The duration of the employment was less than 4 months (up to 1967)
  • The duration of the employment was less than 1 month (1 Jan 1967– 31 Dec 1996)
  • The earned income had to exceed a minimum monthly limit (up to 1997)
  • Employment previously (up to 1 Jan 2007) covered by the Temporary Employees’ Pensions Act (LEL) or the Pensions Act for Performing Artists and Certain Groups of Employees (TaEL) is not covered by the Evangelical-Lutheran Church Pensions Act and is therefore not shown in the church register extract; the most common types of such employment were fixed-term employment at cemeteries (LEL) and periods of less than one year as a cantor (TaEL).
