Information about all services pertaining to the State Employees’ Pensions Act (VaEL) is registered annually in the State Service Register. Employers under VaEL ensure that the information is passed to the register. Information on other than state services is available from the relevant earnings-related pension institutions.
The services of persons employed by the following employers covered by the State Employees’ Pensions Act are entered in the State Service Register:
- state employers (state agencies, institutions and enterprises)
- municipal and joint municipal authority employers (comprehensive schools and upper secondary schools of municipalities and joint municipal authorities)
- private employers (private schools providing basic or upper secondary education, vocational institutions, folk high schools, sports education centres, study centres, institutes of adult education, music schools, universities)
- institutions covered by the State Employees’ Pensions Act pursuant to special provisions
All information that may affect the pension is entered in the State Service Register and included in the register extract. As the updates of the register are carried out with a certain delay, information for the current year is not included in the extract nor is the information for the previous year during the early part of the year. The register only includes the latest occupational title in force for each service period.
The register may lack information that does not affect the pension. It is not necessary to report these shortcomings in the case of
- payroll information concerning old employment periods
- employment under the age of 23 prior to 1 January 2005
- employment of less than one month prior to 1998
