Who receives local government, state or church pension or staff pension for employees of the Social Insurance Institution?

Keva is responsible for organising pension cover for employees of local governments, the state and the Evangelical Lutheran Church, as well as for employees of Kela.

Employees of local governments, the state, the church and Kela are insured in accordance with the various pension acts. Local government employees are covered under the Local Government Pensions Act (KuEL); civil servants and employees of the state and Kela employees are covered under the State Employees’ Pensions Act (VaEL); and church employees are covered under the Evangelical Lutheran Church Pensions Act (KiEL).

Other earnings-related pensions

You may receive other earnings-related pensions if you have also worked outside the public sector. If your earnings-related pension is small, you may also receive a national pension.

For further information on the earnings-related pension scheme and the various pension acts visit www.tyoelake.fi.
