Applying for a local government part-time pension
When you have decided to retire on a part-time pension, visit your workplace pension ombudsman or other person responsible for pension issues. They will provide you with information on applying for a part-time pension and any arrangements related to the pension. Make part-time work arrangements with your employer.
A part-time pension should be applied for around two months before retirement.
Fill in an electronic application together with your workplace pension ombudsman or other person responsible for pension issues.
The pension calculator will provide you with an estimate of the amount of pension you will receive and how a part-time pension would affect your old-age pension.
If your workplace does not yet have an electronic pension application form you can apply for a part-time pension using a paper OE form. Attach to your application a statement signed by your employer clarifying your income and working hours during your part-time employment (appendix OE). Your workplace’s personnel administration will provide you with the form.
Applying for a state or church part-time pension
Apply for a part-time pension 3 to 4 months before retirement using the OE form.
Prior to granting part-time pension, the pension institution must receive a notification signed by the applicant and the employer on the termination of full-time employment and the commencement of part-time employment in compliance with the terms and conditions of the part-time pension scheme.
Attach to your part-time pension application the employer’s account of your earnings and working hours during part-time employment.
You will find all the forms and attachments on the "Lomakkeet" page (only in Finnish).
